Uh oh. I guess I'll go and unfreeze all the bloat again just in case.

Gotcha. I've seen that happen before in other IT areas, I'm just not familiar with Motorola/VZW's build numbers.

However, someone just brought up the idea that the demo build is .991, whereas this is .901. Any ideas on that?

the demo build was 5.5.991 and his phone is now on 5.9.901 which I highly doubt is the same build....something is going on....we need the file to see if it will upgrade everyone.

Does it require being rooted to get the file, or is it possible to dump the file from a stock phone?

People on other forums are reporting it, too. I'd love to get my hands on a manual update to see if we can "fix" our upgrade path issues.

Jump from 5.5.893 to 5.9.901? Awfully big leap, don't ya think?

Not when you consider that there have been leaks:

5.6.893
5.7.893 (What a lot of us are on unfortunately)
5.8.894

So 5.9.901 makes sense.

Where?MyDroidWorld,Rootzwiki or XDA?

A couple people on androidcentral. I posted on XDA to see if anyone else had seen it. I haven't checked MDW or rootzwiki yet.

That would in fact be ideal. I can honestly say that if I can get back on the OTA upgrade path I will stay there. Rooting and flashing roms are fine. Screwing with the kernel and radio on a locked bootloader, DEFINITELY not for me.
