They didn't change from 3g to 4g why would they from 4g to 5g?
Good point. I was going on the assumption though that 4G to 5G is such big move they would keep it as is own platform and charge a premium considering just how many millions of 4G phone's are out there that can't take advantage of 5G.

I can see both sides. Same when 4g deployed. There were what, 10 markets, with it?

We are a couple years out and the tech is unknown. Verizon used 700mhz for 4g. Will they use 1700/1900? I assumed 5G was going to be a beefed up XLTE deployment.
