if you do a google search on that topic though... most analysts said they prolly only had a stock of 100k. That's impressive but not too great for the only phone your company puts out.

And not to mention that to get 4g you will need a Android device for now , may change with iPhone5 , but that will be this summer .

This is an EPIC fail for Apple. Before anyone starts shouting they already sold 100k remember Apple was expecting HUGE crowds at their store(s). So huge in fact that they put a hold on ALL employee vacations and days off until the 28th lol Remember that?

I know of atleast 10 people personally who went to get the iPhone today. Some switched carriers, some picked it as their upgrade. Trust me the iPhone is going to do very well. I also have 2 very close friends in the hampton roads area of Virginia who run VZW stores and both their stores are watching the iPhone fly off the shelves. I would hardly call one Manhattan store a fair sample size.

Again though, one thing I have learned in my time here, people will convince themselves of anything if they believe it makes apple look bad.

Well, we will see how big of an "epic fail" it really is when the iPhone 5 comes out. I wouldn't get an iPhone 4 but I'll bet the iPhone 5 will generate a lot of interest, even if it's only 3G. Personally I could care less about 4G.

Personally I don't think this makes them look bad. I think they over estimated peoples interest in a VZW iPhone 3G.

I think the iPhone 5 will definitely be a big hitter on VZW..I agree with this statement.

I think the people who do actually upgrade to the iPhone4 are making a mistake though. Unless you have the extra money to buy the iPhone5 full price when it's released, why not wait the extra 6 months or so....

    I won't buy the 4, but don't be surprised if I don't go for the 5.

I hope that Apple destroys carrier control when they put their phone on all carriers.

ATT needs to stop being able to charge tethering for things like using an Atrix Laptop dock...

You have to think of a launch in terms of how much marketing dollars they spent.

For example, Microsoft spent $250 million on Kin and they sold 16k kins total..
$500 million on WP7 and they sold 2 million phones

Think of how much money Apple spent retooling this phone and Verizon on marketing and think if it was worth going with this over launching another Droid.
