Verizon Galaxy S4 Kit Kat 4.4.2 OTA is Rolling Out Now!

Yesterday the Droid DNA got some Kit Kat love and now it appears that the Galaxy S4 is getting the same treatment. So it appears as if Verizon is going with an oldest device first approach to their updates. The Note 3 has still yet to receive the update officially even though it has seen the update leaked to the masses. Maybe the Note 3 update will come tomorrow if this pattern continues. The new Kit Kat build number is VRUFNC5. You can actually get ahead of the curve and manually check for the update yourself by going to settings, about phone, software updates, check for new software update. Chances are you will be able to pull the update now. Keep in mind that if you have rooted your device you will lose root, if you have flashed a custom recovery then the update will not take. You will be need to be running a completely stock rom with stock recovery in order for the update to work. Apparently this update is more than just a build number change. The changelog is very long. Some of the highlights include New apps (isis wallet, emergency alert, vzw cloud), sms to goole hangouts, google printing framework, tap to pay hce support, chromium web viewer, lots of UI changes and more!
