If you have not yet been able to take advantage of Verizon's XLTE service, but are interested in it, then you may want to peruse the list below. Big Red just announced today that they expanded into several new areas around the country. Here's a list of the new markets:
  • Chambersburg, PA
  • Charleston, WV
  • Chillicothe, OH
  • Dothan-Enterprise, AL
  • Eureka, CA
  • Hagerstown, MD
  • Hattiesburg, MS
  • La Grange, GA
  • Oskaloosa/Ottumwa, IA
  • Watertown, NY
Although this service doesn't qualify as Advanced LTE with massive bandwidth improvements, in some cases users experience double the speed they currently have, which is nothing to sneeze at. Sound off if you have and enjoy XLTE in your area.

Gotta wonder how they choose what areas to get it first. I don't know if those towns are big, small, in between or not at all. Philadelphia is big but not like New York and neither were in the first runs so must be smaller cities first.

We've had it in my area & this area is not that big. Makes me wonder if they were trying it out on a smaller scale before going bigger

Eureka is in the middle of no where in CA. Bring XLTE to San Francisco

Was just in Hattiesburg yesterday! Had no reason to "use" my phone, but, this is major news as Southern Miss resides in that city, and it's frustrating at football/basketball games having slow LTE/3G speeds...

I used to live between Hagerstown, MD and Chambersburg, PA (they're only about 10 miles apart). Chambersburg is a fairly small town and Hagerstown is not that much bigger.

I used to live in Dothan-Enterprise, AL... Trust me. We're talking SMALL.

I do freely admit that being an hour or so from Panama City Beach, or Destin was awesome though.

My hometown is near Watertown NY. It's where the 10th mountain Division is, fort drum. Not a huge city but the biggest around there.

Like I really care about faster cell services with the data manopoly going on. Wow verzion I can use up all my data by watching 2 movies. The FCC needs to grow a pair of balls and do something about this.

Yeah Enterprise is tiny. I have some friends there.
