using yahoo mobile email with Droid Eris

I was not able to search my yahoo emails when using yahoo on my new Droid Eris. Yahoo mobile will not preform many functions using the browser supplied with my phone, I downloaded Opera mini browser for Android and now I can use all the yahoo email functions that I was able to use on my previous Motorola Q phone.
