Using Skype Mobile with WiFi

I got the global ready phone for the ease of being able to be in touch with people at home since I live abroad, but I was counting on that the Skype application would work with WiFi.

Now I am here and apparently Skype cannot be used with WiFi. What? Any suggestions? Can the app be modified to work with WiFi?

it can work with wifi. I used it. Are you using the Verizon one or the one from the market (blue icon one)

I´ve been using the version that was on the phone when I bought it. If I download a different version from the market it should work with WiFi?

should. I will say the blue icon one from the market has the ability to do video chat. The Verizon app one doesn't.

That is the biggest difference.
