Using "Groups" in my contact list to send text messages to multiple (29) contacts at once.

How can I send a text to everyone in a group I created in my contacts list?
I would expect that since the standard contact app that came on my new Verizon Turbo2 has the ability to create groups within my contacts, that I'd be able to preform mundane tasks like sending a reminder text to everyone in the group at once.
I'm usually pretty tech savvy, but this just seems to be outside of the purpose of having groups, although I can't imagine why...
And I don't want to install an app that will "invite" all the members to download the same app

I have no idea using groups, but if you simply send 1 text to 25 people you can then use that to send future messages.
