Use Droid 3 on Pay as You Go VW?

Ok so currently I'm using the Droid 2 R2-D2 on Pay as You Go VW.
What I'm wondering is if I can use the Droid 3 on Pay as You Go VW?
So if anyone knows the answer could you let me know.

I'm pretty sure you can do that with any phone as long as you already own the phone and don't enter a contract.

From my understanding, as long as its not a 4g phone it can be done. Prepay does not support 4g phones as of now...
