Hi guys, my problem is with USB tethering.. it was working fine and everything was alright until the last time i unplugged the phone from the USB data cable without unchecking the "USB tethering" checkbox which i think this is what caused it to stop working (i have always been doing that) .. when i turn the usb tethering on, the windows says that the device is malfunctioning with error code: 43 .. i need a solution please. (sorry if this is the wrong forum)

Moved to Android tech support to give you a better chance of getting a solution.

Thank you guys for trying to help.. and sorry for the late response because i was trying to use USB tethering on another PC and it showed the same error.. so apparently the problem is from the phone.. and i did try every possible solution in jhonny's link .. and none of them seems to have worked unfortunately.. is there any other way to fix this?

Can you tell us what tether app you're using? Have you tried using an alternate app that doesn't require the use of the usb cable? ie: Foxfi

Actually no, i don't use apps to use USB tethering, it's a feature in the phone itself.

?

Ok, was just wondering.
What's the make/model of your phone?

It's not a global brand, so i think it wouldn't be well-known, anyway, it's xtouch x405, i have an alternate way to connect the internet from the phone to the PC, and it is bluetooth tethering, but it wouldn't be better than USB, because with USB, i can have my phone charged PLUS connecting the internet to the PC, would doing a full factory reset fix this?, is there any other solution?

In this case I'm gonna need your recommendations on the best way/app to create a backup for all app data, and wifi hotspots and their passwords and etc.. before i use the factory reset guys.

I only use the Samsung software to backup my phone. I hope someone can help you out with that! I don't wanna give you any wrong ideas! :)
