Been fishing for this for awhile. Anyone know how I can get access to/have a US Map on my droid? Any apps? Suggestions? Thanks!

thanks. No really I just don't know what you're looking for. Google Maps has some pretty extensive maps what more do you need?

Sorry if it was a dumb question, but I would like to have quick access to a labelled US map, preferably with major cities and/or capitols...is that available in Googlemaps, at a glance?

Actually you have in your hand one of the best map tools around right now.

Just load up google maps, and you should be good to go.

Speaking of fishing, I would like to see a good Boating / Fishing Map App with inland lake coverage.

It wasn't a dumb question just trying to clarify what your exact needs are. Since Google Maps is very detailed you might of been looking for something more specific.

Does Google Maps not serve what you need?

Is there a way to download or cache google maps? I'd love it if I could still see exactly where I was when I was out of cell reception...

For what you're looking for, I'd recommend that you simply go to the net, find a map you like by using a google image search. Resize it if necessary, and put it in your gallery. You can put a shortcut to the image on your homescreen if you want one touch access to it.

Look for OruxMaps in the Market. Download the app then visit the developers website to download the program for your PC and follow their FAQ. You have to know where your going ahead of time but it works pretty well. I used it turkey hunting last weekend.
