Man I'm thinkin about sayin forget an upgrade and just get a new battery for my OG Droid cause it doesn't seem like there is any other phones worth upgrading to on Big Red. What y'all think?

It is up to you. If you are still happy with your OG Droid, then stick with it as long as you are happy with it. At least until a device that comes out that has a feature you want/need or one that just wows you.

I don't really agree here. I mean the D1 was amazing....but to be honest the D3 is just as amazing. It is the very best "successor" phone I have ever used. Meaning it is the best "next generation" of a device. The D3 is light years ahead of the D2 and D2G....we wont even start on the D1. I loved my D1 but wouldn't ever consider it again now that I have this D3.....especially when we get root.

I'm still on my D1 too. I've been able to upgrade for a week or two now but have not. I'm waiting on the Bionic but I won't get it the day it comes out. If it doesn't live up to the hype I may also just wait to see what else is around the corner. My phone is responsive, makes calls, and I still get to check out new apps on it. The battery makes it through the day, and it is currently rooted and overclocked.

Those with a D3 or have other upgraded phones from a D1....what "extras" are you enjoying? Bigger screen? Faster web browsing via 4G? Apps you couldn't run before? The joy of something shiny and new?

Enjoying the bigger screen, better keyboard, better battery life, its faster and more responsive, and just seems better built than the D1 in my opinion.

    end of line...

I'm in the same boat as the OP, except I already have a spare battery. My rooted and overclocked Droid 1 is fairly fast, has wireless tether and does everything I need it to do.

I've got an upgrade to use, but nothing really stands out so far. I'll check out the Bionic, but if it doesn't live up to at least half the hype, I'll pass.

Same here. I got a 2nd battery a year ago and switch them every month or so. Both are going fine. I was excited about the D3, but after playing with it for a while at the store, I don't think that I can stand Blur. The keyboard is great, even better than the one on my wife's Ally, with the extra of the numeric row. However, the keyboard doesn't make up for the crappy Blur for me. I'll play with it some more, but I'm not encouraged so far.

The mirror mode, LTE, better cameras, and bigger screens should be enough to help get you into a new device. My Charge is awesome. My work Revolution...ehhh. Get the bionic. It will probably pwn everything.

What do you use to qualify that statement?

I must be in the minority. I don't mind blur so much. Of course, it needs to be trimmed down (like zombiestomped) to be snappy and enjoyable, but it's not too bad. I prefer aosp/cm though. This miui (iphone) vibe that I'm on takes some getting used to.
