Every app that I update via the market gets removed from the home screen. Any way to combat this?

Have you moved any of them from Application storage to media storage?

Yes. All possible apps that can be moved have been. When I move an app it also disappears from the home screen.

There's your way to combat it then. Keep homescreen apps in Application storage.

Must have something to do with how it handles the temp file during the update.
