I say we hit customer service hard with complaints about this and also make your thoughts known on the Verizon community forums . We did win the battle and they dropped the credit card fees for bill pay.

If Verizon gets rid of my grandfathered unlimited data, I'll leave and never go back.it's not just to prove a point, it's because my bionic would be useless.I always use at least 30 gigs a month and I wouldn't even consider myself a bandwidth hog, but 4g is a hog in its own rite.one Netflix movie alone can take a couple gigs..

Tried to activate an old phone online after dropping my R2D2 and smashing my screen. VZW tried to force me to switch data plans saying mine was incompatible. I'm like what?(29.99 unlimited data) Took it to a official store and told them that I just need phone activated till repairs on my droid could be completed. Reps wanted to help, but support would not authorize it. I threw a s$%t fit and started picking up business cards. Props to the rep who pulled out a droid2global and activated it on my line till my repairs were made. Thanks Kimm Riggs

Yeah I've had my upgrade for about a year and a half now, idk if 4G is currently part of the unlimited data on my line ad I bought my bionic off contract and don't have 4g in my area.

That being said, if I go into Verizon at any point and they tell me I can't renew and keep unlimited data, I will just keep buying used phones off contract. If that doesn't allow me to keep unlimited data I will switch to Sprint or something prepaid. Let me keep unlimited data or I'm out - its that simple. I wouldn't mind paying like 40 bucks a month for it either lol but tiered data is not something I want, no matter what the price of it is.

Well before we all start freaking out about it, let's see what the new family share plans are like.

Hate to say this, but some of the complaining sounds a little like entitlement to me. Verizon didn't have to grandfather us into unlimited data. They didn't have to grandfather unlimited 3g people into unlimited 4g. Heck, I think it was rather nice of them to keep on the unlimited people for as long as they have.

The fact is that the wireless industry is moving away from unlimited data plans en masse. They are a thing of the past. Verizon has to evolve like any other phone company. They are in business to make money.

Sure, switch to sprint if you want. You'll pay less, but you'll get less - slower speeds and poorer coverage. There's a reason why they charge less.

I use anywhere from 2~8GB a month. For the next whatever months I will drop my ISP at home and DL as large of files on verizons LTE network. Drop them and move somewhere else(sprint I guess) Happy This was called before I spent money on my next phone that may not work on sprint.

Based on my Data tracker I used 600GB last month off my home PC Screw you verizon.

If this is the case then I just lost the only thing I had to convince my wife that we should stay with Verizon at the end of our contract. She was with US Cellular but I convinced her to let me add a line to my account and have her use that. Take this and add it into the poor service lately, constant 4g outages and slow 4g speeds lately. Pretty sure Verizon will be losing my 3 lines of service if they force all of us onto a tiered plan.
Overall I've been happy with Verizon, except for the last 6 months or so. I still wish Verizon wouldn't have bought Alltel, they were a much better company than Verizon.

This is wrong in my case. I have been paying for the unlimited, even though it's not needed really, because THEY told me I would be safe from losing it in the future, when I will need it. I assumed my kids would increase their data usage as they get older and use their devices more. I figured pay now and have no worries down the road. They suckered me in. That's a ****ty way to do business.

I'll take the small drop in service. VZW's 4g stinks anyway. Yeah, sure it's fast, but it goes in and out constantly. I couldn't count how many times I've lost signal in the middle of a 4g area while doing something important.

I think the outcry in the replies in the topic alone summates my feelings as 10+ year VZW subscriber who's using an unlimited 4G plan.

I might call and see if I can take my current plan and lock it in for 10 years or something. If they ask if I'm sure, I can just tell them "I'm pretty sure y'all will breach the contract before I do." and see what kind of response I get.

Hmm they add a $30 upgrade fee and now they want us off our unlimited data plan? Hmm... I wonder how the nexus program will work out? I also wonder if they'll force us off our unlimited plan if we buy the phones either at retail, buy them used, or acquire them through other means.
