Update version 2.2 for Galaxy S - Fascinate

I am not sure what your question about the kernel means. I still have eclair not froyo. I doing feel comfortable enough to root. i read about some of the things that happen and it sounds foreign to me!

yep, downloading now.. hell froze over.

I re rooted after the 2.2 update causing some issues and tech support is useless. I sometimes dont get calls/ cant send texts. This is with the stock 2.2 update. I called tech they told me 3rd party apps are to blame and to uninstall all 3rd party apps. LOL What a joke. I told them no and hungup. SO I decided to root with a CLEAN rom. Much better and FASTER!

I got a message with the 2.2 update today, and it started downloading properly but must have failed at some point. I restarted my phone but under settings -> about phone I'm still on firmware 2.1.

Any idea how to prompt the phone to re-download the update?

Under settings, go to "about phone" and search for updates.
