I had an update window on my phone this afternoon...saying to install 2.0.1, however that was already the version I have on the phone. I installed it and the firmware version is still 2.0.1. Did anyone else experience this today?

Some people who got 2.0.1 got an old version of Facebook when they initially updated from 2.0 to 2.0.1.

I know at least 15,000 people were affected, they started pushing the update yesterday and all affected people should be getting the update within the next few days.

If you are on 2.0.1 and it says there is an update to install 2.0.1, I would hit yes and install it as the chances are 99% that you got a bad version of 2.0.1 with an old version of Facebook.
