I have been notified 4 different times that the update is available. When I click okay to re-boot, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Is your device rooted? And if so have you deleted or froze any of the bloat apps that came on it?

Oh, sorry. No, the phone is not rooted. It is stock, just as when I bought it except that I have added some apps from the app store.

Yeah those shouldn't effect the update at all. That is strange though. Have you tried rebooting your phone and then trying it again?

Yes, after I re-boot, the link is gone to upgrade the system. Is there a way to access the link other than having it appear on its own?

Well assuming it works the same on your phone as the Moto devices I have owned try this:

Go into Settings > About phone > System updates > then once in there "Check for Updates" - The wording may not be exact but should be close to that.
