Unwanted "Friends" shade. Please help.....

I am unsure what I might have done to place this "Friends" shade on my screen, but I'm hoping that someone can tell me how to permanently remove it?......I am aware that if I side-swipe it, it moves out of sight, but I would like to delete it. Any suggestions?View attachment 51232

It is a widget. Too remove it simply long-press the widget then at the top or bottom of your screen a trash bin will appear. Drag the unwanted widget to the bin and it's gone. To create widgets long-press the screen and then you will be prompted to add them from the inventory of widgets you currently have available on your phone or have downloaded.
