I just switched to Big Red at the end of November, so I won't see any upgrade anytime soon, heh.

Pending the outcome of the possibility of a grandfathered unlim data plan for $30/month on the TB, I'll likely be getting one.

That being said, what are we thinking for outright price when buying it. $499? $599? Will it be available through VZW at this price, or would I have to purchase direct from HTC? Advantages/disadvantages of doing either?

Usually they have them pretty cheap on Amazon, but that's with a 2yr contract, so I'm not entirely sure.

If you are going to buy it outright without a contract it will most likely be 569.99 or 599.99. I'd personally say its worth it, i have been looking all over at comparisons between the newest phones coming out for verizon and i feel the thunderbolt would be a great phone to have. I will be picking one up for myself as well. Most people will defer you to the Bionic but in my speculation from looking at it, the dual core is such new technology that its not worth it yet and the thunderbolt is plenty fast to make up for it.

Exactly. Dual core is great, but useless unless utilized by the OS.

Thunda'Bolt actually scores higher than the Bionic in Quadrant.

That, + Kickstand, higher-res cams, more RAM, and many other awesome advantages, is why I'll be picking up the Bolt.

I agree all the way, except the Kickstand, I could care less about that. Plus none of the bootloader locking bs that moto is pulling
