Have you finally come to the end of your 2 year contract, and you are ready for a change in carrier but still love your Droid 3? Maybe after paying the Verizon ETF you couldn't quite afford a smartphone on AT&T or T-Mobile, but you still have the old trusty Droid 3 laying around and you would like to use that. Developer Dhacker along with Hashcode and some help with XDA members have made a solution for you. Using their method you can now Unlock your Droid 3 to be used on GSM networks. This had already been accomplished but was apparently borked with Jelly Bean. The new method works with Jelly Bean. You will want to follow the links and guides in Dhacker's tweet for more info. When asked why he continues to focus on older devices as much as newer devices Dhacker said "Well not everyone can afford a new phone so why not help out ". This kind of attitude is really what makes the dev community so great!
