Is there an unlimited text plan option for the moto droid on verizon the US? Or is 5000 the highest limit they have?

5000 is the highest "ala carte" texting package you can get. But, if you change to "Talk and Text" plans you get unlimited. $30 for the whole family plan, $20 for a single line plan.

You know, text should be included with data plan. Doesnt make sense. Its like being charged twice.

Text has never been data on any carrier. There were non-data phones that could text. It certainly makes sense as text isn't sent via data unless you're using Google Voice or another app that sends and receives texts via data. That's why you can talk and text on Verizon (while simultaneous voice and data are not possible) and on non-3G GSM devices.
