I called customer service one time when I couldn't identify a symbol on my phone. They had to consult with others before they came up with the answer and called me back with it. If your phone or owner's manual doesn't have a list of symbols with meanings, you can give customer service a call.

Welcome to Droid Forums. I just looked through the online manual for the incredible 4g and I do not see that symbol in there. Has it always been there or is it something that appeared later on?

You should see NFC ..in phone settings ..most likely under wireless & settings ..toggle off
