I have a number of apps that I like but rarely use. I have been using Titanium Backup to uninstall the apps, but I do not delete the back from Tatanium. In this way, when I do want to use one of the uninstalled apps, I just do a recover via Titanium and I have my app back. This is very fast and I do not know of a downside to this.

But that is my question, is there any downside to using this method to keep the phone much cleaner.

You might not get updates from the saved apps.
