I want to uninstall the clock (system app) because if i download the new one from the market and use the voice commands to set my alarm, it will not let me dismiss my alarm when it goes off. So my question is can i simply use root explorer to delete it and it accomplish the same as uninstalling it? oh and i used the search option but i think it brought up every thread ever created lol

If you do this, I highly recommend that you not delete the app. Simply change it's name for XXXXXX.apk to XXXXX.bak. That way if you latter change your mind you can simply put the name back to the original and it's there. If you are worried about space, move the .bak to your sdcard.
