Stop music app from constantly running?

If its not necessary to play music or w/e(meaning, i don't need it for other apps to work), id like to just uninstall.

if it is necessary then id like to just stop tui from running. I've done force stop in menu and used ATK with no luck. Any help?

    can stop it now...weird.

If you want to just remove it you could use Root Explorer ($3.99 from Market)

Titanium backup. Be sure to make a backup before you uninstall.

Sent from my Droid using DroidForums

I used Root Explorer to remove it, not because I don't listen to music, but because the new Music player in 5.3 sucks so bad. I assumed I could just install the old version, but so far, no luck doing that.

You might be able to just decompress the SS-5.3.zip file to your HDD, remove the Music.apk from /system/apps, then rezip it and re-install it. Dunno if that actually works or not, but I would think it should. Anyone care to chime in here?

    In terminal app or ADB:

    sysrw
    rm /system/app/Music.apk
    sysro

    Done!

    Tried to remove music.apk

I'd like to install the old Music.apk

As bigeric said - you must have missed the 'sysrw' step ...

You have to type 'sysrw', and then enter ...

THEN the rm command - if you are getting prompted to remove - the initial sysrw command did not take

I'm not sure if you need to

    but do

    "su" first.

    so

    su>enter
    sysrw>enter
    then try removing it
