I'm going to give this a shot.
Wow, the contacts app is really messed up. Yes the seperator characters are all wrong. But have you tried the 'speed tab' on the right side of the screen? If you scroll the screen a little with your finger, this additional 'tab' shows up. You can then drag this tab up and down the screen to quickly scan through the contacts. Unfortunately in this version, as you scroll through the list, it actually goes through the list multiple times (instead of just once).
And it also displays the wrong letter for the section of the list, similar to the problem above. Wierd. I hope it is an easy fix.
Otherwise, this rom is great! Thanks BD!!
Love the new launcher. Only issues:
1. Live Wallpaper reacts a little above where i touch.
2. The tab that lets you scroll thru contacts quickly shows random lowercase letters or just an uppercase "C" while scrolling thru contact list.
Would a reinstall fix these?
Thanks everyone for your help! I'm loving this rapid-fire update awesomeness!
Looks like the Contacts issue could be caused by the way BD incorporated the app. See here: [APP MOD] WyContacts 1.1 (150210) - xda-developers
Others (Stock Rooted ROM, Superboot, Bacon Addon):
May not release it, if you are interested just compile it from my GitHub. Reason? Most of the other custom ROMs have different frameworks, that causes the alphabetical separators (possibly other stuff) to be all messed up. It's a better idea if the ROM makers themselves compile it against their source..
I think that's what we're seeing, so hopefully BD can update it for 7.6...
DOH! just did a HOMER! thanks srtfool32.
I'm sure I missed it reading through the list, but for anyone else trying to decide whether to use the update.zip or the nandroid file to upgrade from 7.0 to 7.5:
This will update your 2.1 system to Ultimate7.5.
It will not give you the additional apps listed in the OP.
It will preserve your existing apps and data.
This will install the full Ultimate7.5 including the extra apps listed in the OP.
It will not preserve your existing apps or data (they get wiped).
I've not done this, but you should be able to do a nandroid backup of your existing Ultimate7.0 installation first and then restore just the data partition after installing 7.5.
Regardless of which method you choose, I recommend a full nandroid backup before starting!
OK, I'm a little lost here.
Was running BB7.0, switched to Cyanogen. Ran DroidMod to put SPRecovery back on. Downloaded BB 7.5, renamed update.zip, put on root of SD. Keep getting error. Where did I F up?
will the nandroid process allow me to have my apps and the apps listed in 7.5
my phone freezes and reboots when i get to the lock screen. I think its due to the setcpu app. It didnt start until i reinstalled it. I will go back to UD7 for now. I tried changing kernels with no success. Oh, well
That zip file is not supposted to be renamed update.zip
It is a nandroid backup
extract it to a folder in your nandroid folder, then do a nandroid restore in sprecovery.
Just wanted to say Thanks BD and beta testers!
Yup, straight now. too much flashing for one day.
