I've been using this rom combined with chevy's lv 1.1ghz kernel for two weeks, and I have great batt. life, super smooth and fast. I have had no issues what so ever, and I'm very nerdy and picky. Give it a shot, and let me know if you find better pls.

I was on UD Froyo Extreme 8.0 for a month or so and loved it as well. I've since moved on and am currently on UD 2.5. It has a few features such as "quiet hours" and the power control widget in the notification drop down that 8.0 doesn't. For me UD 1.0 ran the best and felt like a more stable version of 8.0 but doesn't have the features of the newer UD roms.

Thats quite a few build behind when it comes to UD. You might want to check out the UD section of this site for the latest release (2.5). Or even foloow the link in my sig for the UD site. But if it works for you and you are happy than keep a good thing going.

Does it have the froyo extreme options and extras, or just a ud feel about the rom?

Marky3130 is right about UD roms - as he releases new builds, he (being Black Droid, the creator of the UD roms) keeps adding little goodies, but at the expense of stability and speed. You can find a rom that suits your needs and just stay with it, or you can get on the roller-coaster and try each new build. It's a trade-off, but either way you're getting a superior rom.

The new 2.5 ROM has been nothing but stable for me.I have yet to experience an issue and I've had it since release day.

Ud seems stable enough but in terms of speed it never lived up to what some people say. I've run almost every ud build released and I've always switched pretty quickly. The extras are nice and the theme is awesome but in terms of speed, chevy has never let me down

You may want to take a look at Droid Concepts Succulent Desire 7.0 - I can particularly recommend SHINE and Atlantis Blue. Both are part of a innovative concept of releasing themed roms. Same rom, just available in different flavors. You'll find it to be a smooth and responsive, and trouble free rom that is a pleasure to run. Version 8.0 will be coming out in the near future.

Just installed new ud 2.5.0 with slayer 1200 kernel, and it has speed, stability, and all the extras. I'm talking smooth rom with no issues. Try it out for yourself.

If you want speed and stability, try any of the Liquid Frozen Yogurt builds. Doesn't have most of the bells and whistles of UD, but it is fast and responsive.

I use both, btw. Depends on my needs and I like to support all developrs. :) I like the freedom of choice.
Bells and whistles = UD 2.5; Speed and lean = LFY! :)

Or, try any ROM! All are good and may fit your needs.

Yeah, that's really cool looking. I can tell you that it's not a product of Quadrant Advanced, because I have that installed and it's not multi-color.

I stand corrected! I now see the multiple colors - well, they were always there, I just hadn't run Quadrant Advanced, since I upgraded to it awhile back, so I'd forgotten the colors. :icon_eek:

To install a rom, you need to be rooted. You also need to have a recovery system in place - either SPRecovery or ClockWork Recovery. You install the rom according to the developer's instructions using one of the two recoveries. Always make a backup first - *ALWAYS*.

If you're not yet rooted, you'll need to do that first. Read up on the process, as well as the installation of custom roms and themes before you try anything. You need to have a handle on the process you're undertaking, before you start. You should start by looking at this http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-hacks/632-what-root-means-stop-asking.html and then check some of the other threads in the Hacking area.

    Good Luck! :)
