I use a program on my PC called Movie Collector.
There are many ways to export my movie list but the only one
that works on my droid is a .txt file.
The only way I know how to get to it
is by using ES file explorer. The problem is it's buried so I have
to go through a bunch of folders to view it.
How do I make a shortcut for it on my desktop?
Does anyone here use Movie Collector?
Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks

It only lets me create a folder I can't add anything to it or (copy/paste/drag) and I can't find it with file explorer to move things into it.

Why not just move the file to the root folder of your SD card so you can access it easily instead of having it buried in a bunch of folders?

EDIT:

Another option is to install Astro (file browser), then long press on whichever homescreen you want the shortcut in, select Shortcuts, select Astro, then browse to the txt file you want and it will create a shortcut to it.

Those all work but I just want it on the desktop. These phones are so amazing I'm just
floored that's there's not a way to put it right on the desktop. I don't want to open an app find a file open the file... I just want to open a simple text file for crap sake.

I just tested my suggestion with Astro and it worked just fine... ;)

Placed a shortcut on one of my homescreens to a test.txt file and it opens it.

By the way, you might be able to use YOUR file explorer but I'm not sure since I use Astro. Try it with yours first, and if that doesn't work then install Astro.

Hey Guess What? it works.
Now I have a new problem.
I accidentally associated .txt files with HTML viewer.
I cannot find where to change it back to the pop-up window
that asks you what you want to open it in. Help please.
