Well here I am in my college town, and guess what Verizon doesn't have 3G here @ WVU. 4G coverage is only a 20 min drive north into PA but yet were stuck with 1x. My question is whether or not I can turn off 4G so it will stop searching for it and eating my battery.

I thought I had it bad at Bloomsburg with crappy 3g. Yeah just go change it from lte/cdma to cdma only. It'll help

Okay thank you, I knew I could do that but I wasn't sure if I could still do it in my coverage.

Well since im on the outer edge of a 4G area I would rather it not be searching for 4G and just live with it searching for 3G, ohh well. Verizon customer service told me that my area would be getting 4G before it would be getting 3G....that sound right to anyone?

I think all they are focusing on right now is 4G.
