I was using my nav while I was in Los Angeles all this week to get around and it worked flawless!!!!! I had to go pick my daughter up last nite in the country and I had to navigate some gravels while it was snowing, I noticed that the nav background is black at night and yellow during the day now. Was this new with the update?

Sure was! My biggest complaint was that there wasn't a night-mode, and then comes the new update with pinch-to-zoom in map view AND night-mode!

The speed at which things are updated and improved is impressive. Nothing but good things to say about it.

Is night mode automatic? I used mine last night and it was in daytime mode. I have downloaded the update. I have version 3.4.0

Well that's stupid. I guess Garmin is ahead of Google on that one. I was not in nav mode, just had the map on.

of course garmines ahead of google with most things navigation wise because thats all garmin is for is navigation. in the little time google navigation has been around its a great service. i used to think vz navigator was a good phone navigation service for what it was but this just blows it out of the water along with many other software.

Well duh.... They've been doing it for YEARS and you also paid as much (or more) for the Garmin device as your Droid.... Google Nav is a BETA!!!!!

That's BS. I've used a lot of nav programs over the years. They've all had night modes. Night mode is based simply on the time of day, not that you're navigating vs just looking at the map. That's a rookie mistake.
