They're all in the default app apks, which would be in /system/app. Be careful editing them, though. Some apps won't work again after being modified.

ok, they are in each app's apk, which is in /system
they will most likely be in the folder res/drawable-hdpi

if you are rooted then use terminal or adb to copy whatever you want onto the sdcard, someone might be able to give you specific commands but if you dont know where /system is then you probably shouldnt be messing with it anyways

    download root explorer

    go to system/app

mount as r/w, pick the apk you want, copy it to sdcard

open sdcard on computer, rename apk to .zip

    open zip look for res/drawable-hdpi

wherever you see a pic that looks like the stock icon, edit/remove/change/whatever

save it. zip it back up using winrar as *app name*.zip. rename to *app name*.apk and put back on phone..

someone else is gonna have to tell you the commands to get it back on the right way but im 99% sure everything i typed is right..

Pretty sure the icons are going to be named 'icon.png'

Another way to do this: Download the virginoem-backup zip file from sholes.info (here, here or here)

Unzip that to a folder of your choice. Inside there, there will be a system folder. Inside of that will be an app folder. Inside of that will be all of the stock programs in apk form. Rename them to zip, extract them to their own folders, then go to <packagename>/res/drawable-hdpi and look for an image that looks like the icon.

alright, there are 2 ways to go about this, 1 is creating a metamorph theme which you need to creatate your theme file, then a .thm directory file wich gives the names of the .apks your changing, and were they can be found. fastest way to do this is just to download another theme and make the changes to that.

    then theres this way

the part thats missing in that post is...

after you make the file a .apk again, put it in the root of your SD card. open up terminal emulator or a ADB shell and use this code

    Code:
    su
    mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    busybox cp -R /sdcard/yourapkfilehere.apk /system/app
    mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
    sync
    reboot

eather way works fine but if your running 2.1 and MM isnt working for you, use the way that you have to use terminal emulator.

    hope this helps
