Trouble with rooting

alright so im rooting my phone, im at the part after you push the su.zip file on your phone.

when im in recovery mode then i select:
-'install zip from sd card' then
-'choose zip from sd card' then
-nothing, su.zip is not on the list so i cant select it.

what am i doing wrong? any help is appreciated, thanks.

You need to see where you put the file.. make sure its in the place your dev of the exploit specified( SD or SD ex) usually when you dl it will go straight to download folder... look in your file manager...
