Okay, so I think I got everything working up to the point where I say input

    "busybox cp -R framework-res.apk /system/framework"

I'm doing it on my phone via better terminal emulator pro. It gives me the error message "busybox not found". However, I followed the directions to install busybox and it seemed to have worked. Any ideas?

If you just copied busybox to /data/local, to use busybox ypur command would have to be

    /data/local/busybox cp -r framework-res.apk /system/framework

You have to put busybox in a path folder to use it without the path. Page 3 of the alldroid busybox thread details this more.

Are you asking the right question in the correct Forum?
Are you starting your own thread or hijacking another users thread?

This is by far one of the most helpful Droid forums....

    Here is what I did.

I changed the .apk to .zip, then I unzipped the folder and modified the images that I wanted to, (if you don't have photoshop I recommend paint.net, it's free)
After modifying I copied the images to the .zip file and renamed it to .apk. Then all you have to do is put the .apk file back in the sdcard and follow instructions on the first page.

    Also, I have two questions

    1) Does anyone know how to change the font color on the top bar
    2) Could someone please upload the original framework-res.apk .
I really like the orig. bottom bar, of course I would modify it to my liking.

Hey all, I am a newbie as well.. I have downloaded both of the required files, but I do not know how to anything past that, I have read the instructions over and over, and I cant find the directories on my SDCARD that the instructions call for... do I put them in the root of the sdcard, or do i create a directory in local called data??? My drioid is rooted that seemed like a peice of cake compared to this... please break it down barney style to me... thanks all for your patience with us new guys....

I have to admit.. I'm pretty good at following instructions but I'm completely lost here. I can't even get to step 8 that other people got to, I'm having issues doind the adb push command.

I downloaded SDK, Eclipse, installed both, updated.. I think I'm just flat out confused. I opened a cmd.exe and went to my harddrive sdk tools folder, tried the push command and am getting "device not found".

I really apologize if I sound like a total noob, I'm just missing some basic information here. I think I'm just confused. If anyone has some detailed instructions, thatd be great. If not, I completely understand.. I know its frustrating, but I've tried and tried on my own (I'm on over 3 hours trying to accomplish this).

Sigh.. I'm sorry guys. I figured it all out. I didn't know you had to be in USB development debugging mode in order for your computer to recognize the device in cmd.exe. After that, it only took me 20 minutes or so.

Must have taken me 5-6 hours to complete this. Heh.. I feel much better I finally did it though. Great taskbar. Thanks.

How did you get the smaller call/menu/thing at the bottom? I've tried with Home++ and had no luck.

It's GDE with the GDE Hero Theme. It rotates in a 3d cube and with a rooted phone and advanced task manager, it runs very fast and smooth for me.
