A user requested this so I thought I'd post it up for anyone else that was interested, just a metamorph theme that makes the power control widget transparent.

I am pretty new to all this so I hope this is not a stupid question. Is it possible to backup just my Power Control Widget before I apply this Transparent one? or do I have to do a complete nandroid Backup in order to get the my original one back if I decide I want it.

Since this only modifies settings.apk you can just backup that file. Using adb/terminal/root explorer just copy /system/app/settings.apk to /sdcard/settings.apk and then apply the theme. Then if you change your mind you can just move the settings.apk back from the sdcard.

Can I use the program Root Explorer, copy Settings.apk from System/App and save it someplace as a backup on my SdCard, then I can use metamorph to apply the file you have posted and it will apply the new transparent power widget?

To get the original power widget back I can I use Root Explorer to copy and paste the original file back?

That is correct. You will have to re-add the widget to your page after modifying/replacing settings.apk.

With metamorphosis. Install from market. Make folder on sdcard called AndroidThemes and place the zip file in there.

I am usually pretty good at this stuff but I cannot seem to get the widget to install. It seems to install with Metamorph and after I finish installing it, Metamorph tells me it installed correctly but nothing changes, the Power Widget is still the same. I am trying to install it on AdamZ Rom 4.5 (2.01) and I am not getting any error everything seems to work perfectly except it is not installing the new settings.apk file. I can tell by the date of the file when I look at it with Root Explorer.

    Any idea?
