I know one way you can do it through titanium backup. You have to be rooted though

Idk...sorry about that. I know that way works for more than just texts though. If you decide to root.

Only problem I've had with that SMS Backup app is sometimes it would restore my texts out of order. It was pretty annoying, but I think one of the recent updates fixed that. Regardless, it works the majority of the time!
