Sms backup works fine....saves txt as an xml file on your sdcard. Just save, switch sdcards, then restore on the new one.

Yep...if not I'm not real sure of another way to move them. I think the vzw backup assistant will back up txt, but not sure if it will restore to you phone. Let us know if it works.

i just didn't know how smsbackup really worked since I haven't really had to use it yet, but when i switch phones definitely know how to now.

I use SMS Backup+. It syncs them with your gmail account so just have to log into gmails and then tell it to resync. Yea, any text back up is a life saver when you flash roms at all.

Not germane to the OP but I use Google Voice. All I have to do is load the app on the new device and let it sync up my SMS from my GV account.

I use SMS Backup + to transfer text from an Android phone to another, which backs up your messages and call log entries to your gmail account from your old phone. Then on your new phone, you select restore and they get loaded.

SMS Backup and Restore, free from the Play Store, or this way to transfer
