1. Plug the Nexus into the USB port on your PC, then drag and drop.

2. Use an app such as es file explorer or air Droid and transfer files via wifi.

Does this still work? I don't think my USB storage connection to my PC has worked since ICS

Yes, MTP is enabled. However nothing happens when I plug into computer. it used to connect right up. Now, nothing. Read elsewhere that it doesn't work anymore, but I hope that's wrong!!

I have no clue why it would stop working.

I have had zero problems between ICS and JB getting MTP to function properly. There are only two times it doesn't work for me and both are understandable. If I reboot the phone while the phone is still plugged in. A simple unplug and replug solves that. And when I have fast charge enabled with kernels that allow for it.

Do you have USB debugging enabled? (settings > developer options)

What ROM and kernel are you using? Perhaps it is an issue with them?

Today was the first time I plugged mine in for storage since switching to JB.
The cable I use to charge it gave me the device not recognized message.

I switched cables and it worked as expected.

It's now WORKING FINE! Never thought of this, but switched to my original cable and it worked. Must have been the non-OEM cable I was using. Thank you all very much!
