Toyota To Offer Cars with Dashboard Nexus 7 Built-in

    Finally, we have a car manufacturer that realizes the usual "infotainment" systems in their cars are slow and clunky. We have a new report that Toyota is planning to release automobiles with Nexus 7 tablets built directly into the dashboard, although they will still remain modular. Here's a quote with some of the details,

    Just think of being able to use the constantly updated Google Maps over the in-dash GPS systems that pervade most cars. Plus, the Nexus 7 should be quite a bit more responsive as well. What a huge upgrade!

    We don't have an details as to when Toyota will start releasing this (or even which markets across the globe it will arrive in), but we will keep you updated.

    This is an idea whose time came several years ago. I'm glad someone's finally implementing it.
