Yep..4.4_19.5.3 (and) 4.4_19.6.3

jcase has a temporary Root..as long as no reboot..the root sticks unless reboot..then one must Root again..but maybe its more advanced than that now..I'm not keeping up with Root exploits anymore..but..I will not post a link here as per confliction of forums..PM if you need a link..

He has posted in the thread on xda that it won't work on moto or HTC devices because they are write protected.

New Moto devices. Older devices like the Razr hd and the Razr m will work.

No, because of the write protection.

The Droid Maxx locked 4.4 - 19.5.3 & 19.6.3 are able to achieve permanent root with write
protect off using PIE and MotoWPNoMo. Easily Googled for further information. Same procedure works
on the Ultra also...

Last I knew, PIE was only good so long as you don't reboot. Root is lost, and has to be re-done after any restart.

Not true - PIE with MotoWPNomo will achieve permanent root with WP off on the Droid Maxx xt1080M even after power down. You have to start with 4.4_19.5.3. Once completed you can then take the OTA to 4.4_19.6.3 and remain rooted with WP off. :)
