Touch screen stopped working- A855

Hi there--

All of a sudden the screen on my Droid A855 stopped working. It appears the phone is working other than that (I can use the manual on-off-switch) and I can see I am receiving texts etc. I have tried several shut-downs and taken the battery out several times. there was no drop of the phone nor was there any type of water damage. any info would be greatly appreciated (and no, this phone does not have insurance)
