touch screen not working

My back button doesn't work and certain spots on my screen when I'm typing letters wont work. I've had the problem of the lock button not sliding when I touch it, but it will always work if I shut it off and take out the battery. This isn't working for this tho. Any suggestions? Thx! Oh...my phone is only a few months old.

my son bought a used droid a few days ago...and his is doing the same thing. I did a factory reset and the touchscreen still doesn't work. The time and all that worked but no matter where you touched the screen nothing happened. He can't unlock it even. Is it toast?
