Damnit I would test but I am back at school in an extended network and it basically blows to sbf.

    hey there,

thank you for all the work you have done! i have been reading and watching this forum for a long time and have had great successes following the instructions given here....

so now on to my noobie question. i am travelling in thailand with my rooted, stock, sim unlocked droid 2 global and my rooted toshiba thrive tablet...no other computing devices. from reading this forum (and some others) I have figured out that my lack of data reception (zero zilch) with a local thai sim card is due to the "US band" only in the radio band selection and my only way to fix that is to sbf.

so can I use the thrive tablet (it has usb and external sd card capabilities available) to use your ezSBF tool?

any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you in advance!

Sorry no, the Thrive doesn't have a BIOS and can't boot a Live CD/USB, you'll need an actual computer.

Thank you for the quick response even though it is not what I wanted to hear. Oh well, of to find a computer that will allow me to download. Hmmm I should be able to download the ezsbf file onto a USB stick using my thrive and then use a computer to sbf using the USB stick? Right? Often the computers available for public use won't allow downloading files.

    Thanks again!

It appears I am SOL none of the download sites are working anymore. Stupid piracy blocks. I thought I had actually brought the file with me on a USB so I will have to keep looking through my own memory sticks to see if I can find the files I need.

    Thanks again!

Not exactly, you don't simply put the file on a USB, you have to use a program like Unetbootin to make the drive bootable.

This is a major problem, looks like most if not all of my files are inaccessible, need to find a new host apparently.

Hey I am sorry to hear that my news was news to you and that it meant your files were no longer accessible to even you in that form.

On a good note. I found a solution to my problem without having to SBF (which was very good because the computers I was using were not allowing me to download and run any programs) I had all of the programs on my USB stick to download and then use.

After much asking I was able to get more detailed information from the local provider to set up a new APN and presto I have service! Thank you for your help and your guides someday I am sure I will need them again!

Sorry for the delay everyone. New version is out in the OP. It uses the 4.5.608 SBF file and has the D3 root script built in, you can easily root after the SBF or root only. Enjoy!

Thank you to the D2G beta testers iamjackspost and pnwsr6!!!!!!!!!!!!

Argh, when the SBF file unzips it runs through a few lines of code and says waiting for phone, but even when I plug my phone in or have it plugged in already it doesn't change anything, it still says waiting for phone. Any help?

Make sure you are in bootloader mode, make sure you are using the stock Motorola USB cable that came with the device, try different USB ports.
