I loved mine until it stopped taking software updates and started getting slower than the average sloth!

That could be months away and there most likely won't be a root exploit available right after its release. It will probably involve rooting on ICS, protecting with Voodoo then taking the OTA... I would just do it now.

Well I was thinking of doing that myself. I only just rooted my Razr literally yesterday. I figured I had no problems when I had a leaked version of GB on my X so I'm sure I'll have no problem with moving over to JB when that comes around.

Hmm Lol OK. I wouldn't because there won't be an exploit right away. What that means is the method that works for you now to get root right now won't work on JB... you will have to wait for someone to create a new way. There is an app called Voodoo OTA Root keeper that will protect your root from ICS now and carry it over to JB once the update happens.

noobsterootster the answer to your question is yes. If you root ICS and when the update to JB comes out you will have to unroot or if you have downloaded and installed Voodoo Rootkeeper you can temporarily un-root and take the OTA update. However, even if you have temporarily un-rooted there is no guarantee at this point that you will be able to maintain root in JB, the OTA may break root and at that point there may not be a method to root JB. So, you will have an un-rooted JB just like all the rest of us at that point. It make take a week or more for a developer/guru to find a root method for JB...we'll just have to wait and see.
