I've heard a lot of different opinions on whether task killing apps are helpful in preserve battery life or actually drain your battery more? I wanted to get some of you guys thoughts on the matter.

Do you think task killing apps improve battery life or do they drain it faster?

Do you use a task killing app?
    If so which one?

ultimately it's your choice, and as I mentioned in that thread, if you see real world improvement then I can't say not to use one... but task killing is counter-intuitive to how the Android OS is designed.

.... the bloatware is the real issue with Android... and the only reason I find people ever gravitate toward task killers.
