Hey guys. Im running DM and i'm getting tired of it. I want stock 2.1, but I never got the OTA update because I was rooted and in DM when it launched.

So, whats the best way to get STOCK 2.1 on my droid.

ALso, if I get back to stock and 2.1, can you root 2.1, and OC?

    Thanks!

Just run DMupdater, select return to stock. It will bring you to 2.0.1. Then either wait for 2.1 OTA or download it manually.

IMHO it's the right decision. 2.1 and Droidmod 1.0 arn't that different, you just don't get to overclock because you're not rooted.

Can't tell you how long it will take to get the OTA. If running another kernal is what you want to do then why bother to remove the root at all? You can just go back to root before you installed Droidmod, get ROM Manager from the market and work with it that way.

Get ROM manager from the market. Flash CM. U get all the goodies of 2.1 and u get to keep root....:)

It will not take long for the official update to load once u unroot. I happened to me as I had to flash an sbf file to change the M logo. After activation of the phone I got a message saying that an update is available and asked me if I want to install it.

After you get the 2.1 OTA update...Just follow this guide to the letter and you will have a Pure Stock Rooted 2.1 ROM...that is as reliable and trouble free as stock:) Then OC kernels are just an update.zip away!

Get rom manager, and flash 2.1 stock w/root. Then flash an oc kernel and be done with it. No rsd required.

Yeah, seriously. If you already have root, there's no reason to take the OTA update. If anything, you can just take the modified OTA update that keeps root and install that manually. Make sure to return to stock 2.0.1 (rooted) first, though.

im having the same issue, but using helix2. love the features, hate the bugs. so since im running a rooted 2.0.1 with a 2.1 rom, can i just d/l the stock 2.1 in rom manager and my system update will go away in settings?

i really blew it deleting my other launchers before i really used helix2 a lot. im lazy now and dont want to redo all the folders and screens again

or... should i just do the spr flash thats on droid-life and then go into rom manager and find one i like?
....after i unroot and accept the ota that is..

Settings/about phone/system updates ....just download it. although, I'm guessing you already have gotten it by now.
