Good for you X but I have the first Droid which is now completely slow and crappy. Yes, I can delete programs and speed it up but then whats the point.

It's time for an upgrade and I hate moto. My wife has the X and I can't count how many times it crashes and reboots itself. I had to trade in the Droid 4 times before I got one that didn't have a sensor problem. Moto blows as mush as Apple.

I know that and that's why I said that it doesn't mean its better... but it still stands to reason aand ask why would they only put a 5mp in the ATRIX?

The common person thinks 5MP is ridiculously awesome and 7MP is unnecessary. And old sensors ar cheaper.

I am with most others here - this is an unfair comparison, the D/B has specs through the roof and is a Motorola Droid, the T/B is just an HTC, not even a Droid HTC - not to take anything away from HTC - but IMO Moto makes the Superior Device -

Well it's all in what you are looking for. I still feel the TB is the right device for me, and have a few others who do too. You want the Bionx b/c of the dual core, I want the TB b/c of the ram, new sense, and it being HTC (so theoretically unlockable while the Bionx is not).

Again, it's all in what you want in a phone.

I agree. A locked bootloader would ruin the fun in a device for me.

It would be sad to see a locked bootloader, but I am not going to base my decision solely on that -

But you seem to be basing your choice on a single spec, no?

I say wait it out for another device if you must have a dual core. Don't get caught up in the single nice thing about this phone.

I think that a lot of the guys making a HUGE deal about the dual core processor will be disappointed.

Android isn't exactly optimized for multiple cores, and it will prolly be at least a little while before most apps will be re-jigged to exploit multiple cores.

The original Droid that I'm using now was my first Droid. I'm looking to try an HTC model simply to try something different.

I've already resigned myself to the fact that I'll be getting a new phone every year, especially at this rate. So if I don't like the TB maybe I'll try a Samsung device after that.

I'll prolly be getting the Thunderbolt, but I may very well change my mind by the time either of these devices will actually be available for purchase.

I have the rooted Original Droid. I can change roms daily, if I like, and it is very snappy. I can tether to my MacBook Pro. I receive Gmail and Exchange. I sent and receive text messages. I can even make and receive phone calls.

In short, it performs and performs very well. For me, no need to give up a work horse. Just my opinion, folks.

Snappy my a$$ , that phone can't handle more than one app without slowing down considerably or force closing even if it's integrity depends on it . I hate the OD with passion . Even at 1.2 Ghz with BB or PE4 it doesn't even come close to Evo 4G

I can only report how my phone works for me. I've not noticed any issues when moving from one app to another.

What motorola phones will be out in march? My d1 has survived me over a year when most didn't make it 6 months. The screens dying and the phone is crapping out badly( I'm using the keyboard for this because my screen won't type right) so ill be foreced to use my upgrade imediately. Chances are ill be shooting for the Bionic. Its my understanding that its a "vanilla" android device, and from what I've noticed, all these phones have been fully unlocked and rooted/ROM,d. (D1, Nexus 1 etc).

I'm holding out for a dual-core phone with 1GB of ram. If there is one thing PC gaming has taught me it's that you can always use more ram. I want to be using my next phone for two years without any issues multitasking or running games. I also want a DX sized screen and no physical keyboard (I never use mine on my D1). So I hold out and wait, which is fine, I'm waiting for my income taxes to be able to buy something like this anyhow.

There will always be a way to unlock or hyjack a boot loader from what I have seen. The 512 ram on the bionic is kind of disappointing from motor. Think I will hang on to my x for a bit.
