I had an odd battery issue when I applied the update. I had about 40% left when the dl started so I plugged in my phone. After the update it showed 100% with no sign of going down. I re booted he phone and it said 4%. Later it showed 8%, so I charged the phone all the way then drained it completely. Charged it and ran it all day and though the meter "seemed" to drop faster than I was used to I got 2 hours of screen on time (typical for me).

As far as the update goes, seems great. Phone is quicker, smoother, and seems solid. Calls and data work great, and it finds its data connection fast after turning data on (sometimes I would have to turn on/off airplane mode to get data back). Switching between 3g and 4g seems faster too.

Google now actually seems useful and will need interesting to see what it thinks I like and need, lol.

Since updating to jelly bean OTA, on handcent sms all my existing texts are showing as new and I keep getting notifications that I have like 118 new texts. When I try to mark all as read, it locks up... Anyone else seen this?

GoogleNow is a cool concept but after 24 hours it still hasn't really shown anything but the weather. I thought for sure after last night it would have all kinds of new porn links.. er what??
The auto tilt is about 50% better then it was.
The camera slide to view was a needed feature.
Most of the lag is gone from the interface.
Google is expanding their bundle of installed apps..
.
I have Home stored as a location on Google maps, when I open Google now it gives me an estimate time to get home with current traffic. Also nearby restaurants as well as weather.

None for me, in fact quite the opposite. I never had the connection issues some experienced, but there would be a couple of points during my morning commute where I would lose the 4G signal and my phone would drop to 3G or even 1x. It would always reconnect once I reached a certain distance. Now it appears to be maintaining a signal through the same area or it will drop no further that 3G. But the downside may be that having a more consistent 4G signal has impacted my battery life. For me, my phone does seem to drain a little quicker now, yet my battery stats/usage remain similar to before JB.

I love the quickness of the JB, but I am getting some odd behavior with the battery life. I have not done a factory reset after the update, yet. My battery indicator in the notification bar shows the flashing lighting bolt when off the charger. Before this meant it was charging when on the charging cable! Then when I go to look at the battery usage, it says 33% discharging. The time it took me to SWYPE this note, it is at 27% discharging. Last night, when to sleep fully charged. Woke up too completely dead phone. Bizarre. Visions of my Gingerbread update on my Samsung Fascinate are coming back to haunt me. That update killed my battery life on my Fascinate.

That is likely a hardware problem, and a semi-common problem unfortunately. Issue 23789 - android - Galaxy Nexus Charging Issues - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting and My Galaxy Nexus goes crazy (battery/charging issue) - xda-developers <-- further reading on the issue.

Basically what is happening, is your screen turns on when it thinks it is charging, the screen would timeout, then turn back on when it thinks it is charging again later.

Personally don't see any real difference. One of my Beautiful Widgets stopped working. Other than that, I'm not overly disappointed or impressed.
I have noticed that the sound volume really hasn't been fixed. Purchased and used Volume+ and now it doesn't work any longer. The author is having trouble adapting it to Jelly Bean. This has been my only compatibility problem. Flash and Google Wallet worked fine despite reports I've heard that they wouldn't with the upgrade. Has anyone else found apps that stopped working with JB?

For me, the update also solved the issue of bluetooth being slow to turn on or not connecting to my car stereo. I couldn't find the discussion (I don't remember if there was a big one on this website) but a lot of people experienced this issue. Now, it works the way it should, automatically pairing whenever I turn the stereo on and not hanging when I try to enable bluetooth on the phone.

Also, I do believe I'm getting better battery life, if only slightly.

Google Now is very cool, as well as a bit creepy. Today it discovered where my work address is, lol. Wonder what it will think I do next :D

JB is a joy to use, and I was really happy with 4.0.4 BTW. I wasn't overly anxious for 4.1.1 until I helped a friend learn to use his GNEX on Sprint that had the update (then I was drooling). All the stability of 4.0.4 but with an overall polish. I had an odd battery thing right after the update but that appears to be a one off event. I haven't found any apps that don't work either. Haven't tried flash, but I honestly haven't used it in months anyways. I use Chomp SMS and it works fine (I read some handcent users are having problems though; I used to use it but shifted to Chomp when Handcent started acting funny months ago).

The usefulness of the notifications, ease of closing them all down is really awesome. I love the feature when you miss a call and get a prompt to either call them back or send a message! Just lots of little thought out things that make the phone a joy to use.
