So I was trying to install ultimate droid, said it installed and now during the boot it just keeps going back and forth between the droid splash and "the eye"....
Tried to turn it off and it wont, tried holding the power and the X button at the same time and it doesn't do anything? Am i screwed?

I followed the directions here exactly, but apparently something went wrong.

No first try pulling the battery for a minute and then try a restart. It's not bricked give it a few minutes after you restart it back up but should stick on the eye for a bit

YOUR PHONE IS NOT FRICKEN BRICKED RETARD! BRICK IS WHEN IT CANNOT EVER COME BACK. ITS BRICKED, THROW IT OUT. Obviously it can be fixed. Maybe you should read more? Hundreds of people have the same problems everyday. Learn to search. Or post in rescue section, not here.

Wow man, do you think you could have been any more harsh about that. Everyone on here is a human being. Please remember that. Show some class man!

Sorry... I just get so annoyed when everyday I see about 10 new 'i bricked my droid' threads. People need to read and learn more before trying these things.

I just searched "Bricked" (in title) and got 39 direct hits. Not only do we need to read more, as Alien says, before doing this stuff, we need to do a little research on the problem once we have it.

Right. And on the first 3 pages only 4 topics result in a thread posted by someone who thinks they bricked their phone, and none of their situations are similar to mine.

I completely agree, people need to use the search functions before posting things. How tough would it have been to simply state that instead of becoming a rude jerk about it. That's my only point.

'if you don't like it don't read it'

Nice! I didn't know it was a bad thing if we treat people with a little respect. That's all I'm saying....

Alien, you crack me up! lol

People do need to read more and try to be more informed before they try to voice their warranty and root. They should look at all scenarios and even see if bricking is possible.

At one point..this forum may turn into another iphone forum with a bunch of 12 year olds trying to root and whining because their mom is gunna be mad they broke their phone. God, I hope not. But the more I see people saying they bricked and not reading and being informed...thats how it feels.

Well the battery cover doesn't seem to want to cut off and i'm almost at the point of snapping my phone in half with how hard i'm pressing......If I let the animation run until it kills the battery and then recharge it will that have the same effect?

Wait, cut off? Your battery cover just slides down and pops off. If you cut anything you are not going to be happy.

Some are a little stickier than others, lay your phone down on a hard surface back side up put 3 fingers on the back just under the camera below the indented line push down and slide it downward toward the golden speaker once its loose you should be able to lift it off then lift the battery out from the bottom with a fingernail wait a minute then put it back in and together the same way

sorry should read come off....When I press down or try to slide it nothing happens, tried even using 2 palms and it doesn't budge...All I can think of is that maybe the guy at verizon snapped something when he installed the battery?

    Thanks,

I've been trying this for about 5 minutes now but it still doesn't budge...I've even tried inserting something small in the groove to help get leverage but it still doesn't move...Something must have gone wrong during the install..

Take it back to verizon. Just make sure its off or something when they try!
