    So besides being able to save locations, what else does it actually do? The description doesn't say very much.

    Yes. It opens the navigation app in google maps with a new interface,and a few more options, like saving locations and history...etc. Pretty cool.

    it's worth it only if it just saved locations. that's a pretty key feature that gmaps is missing

    Google Nav saves locations...sorta. Just create a shortcut, then choose directions, enter the address, and thats it...one touch navigation shortcut. create a folder and save them there or however you want to organize them....

    If you typed the address into Gmaps, it saves it in the 'search' drop-down list.
