Don't worry, your phone is fine. Mine did the same thing and the SBF fixed it. Just go through the SBF instructions carefully. My only problem after the SBF flashing is that my 3G doesn't work at *228 option 1 isn't working but a factory reset should fix it.

I tried it before you posted your results, been trying to fix my phone for hours.
The problem is that RSD doesn't see my phone, even after updating drivers etc. I even tried the linux method and that didn't work. However, when in recovery mode there is an error at the bottom that reads:
    E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
Could this be making my phone inaccessible to the computer for some reason? Or am I supposed to do something in recovery mode before the computer recognizes it?

If you followed all the instructions in the link i posted it should work. I had skipped downloading rsd lite since i had it.. but it didnt reconize the x.. it was and outdated one.. and you have to make sure yiu move that file over

You have to be in your bootloader.. camera+volume+power

Thanks, realized I was in the wrong mode right before you posted that ;) But even after doing that, RSD recognizes my phone now but after I hit start it runs for a second then says FAIL under result. What now?

You don't want to be in recovery, you want to bein the bootloader like so:
    Edit: I'm slow tonight...

Yep, I unzipped it and everything. The size of the file is 439 megabytes.

EDIT: I also tried putting it in the C:\ directory but that didnt change anything.

What version of rsdlite are you running?
